How healthy are our workspaces? How do they impact our wellbeing, productivity and social interactions with colleagues? Employee evaluations show that a majority of workers feel dissatisfied with at least one aspect of their workplace design, which is twice as problematic for open-plan than for enclosed office layouts. With more employers opting for open plan environments, the need to mitigate these negative effects is ever-growing.
The aim of the SONATA Consortium is to generate evidence-based guidance for architectural adaptation as a workplace design intervention that promotes mental and physical health and wellbeing, and reduces negative outcomes of the exposure to psychosocial and physical risk factors. These recommendations will consider cost, benefit, sustainability and implementation barriers for different key target groups to improve the quality of life for our workers. |

Given the ongoing energy crisis, the accelerating climate change, and experience from the pandemic forcing us indoors and increasing disparities, it is once more time to ask: in which way should we approach the provision of indoor climatic conditions? Which approach makes us humans within the human-built environmental system most resilient in face of these challenges?
Current solutions usually address singular sensory stimuli like thermal triggers alone; however, humans are constantly exposed to multiple stimuli like temperature-related triggers, light, noise and air pollution, which interact with each other. With a focus on Europe’s existing buildings, the MuSIC project envisions cities with indoor and outdoor spaces that are more liveable and sustainable. |

NRG2peers will contribute to the total involvement of around 80.000 residential customers in EU in the residential sector. This target will be achieved by validating the NRG2peers platform with a fully end-user-oriented approach in 9 demonstration cases. NRG2peers will specifically address individual house owners by providing attractive decision making tools, offering house owner oriented business models, giving easy and understandable access to the latest renovation technologies, products and concepts and tools to follow up the real performances of a peer-to-peer energy community.

This case study is not yet an energy community, because of regulation, technical, legal and social barriers to energy peer to peer exchange in Italy, even within the same building. e.g. the PV energy produced, and all the energy systems serve each single family.
A simulation approach based, on monitoring data, will be used to evaluate the potential benefits and opportunities deriving from the adoption of an energy community, whereas on field action will be mostly oriented toward users. Additionally, specific further communities or users’ groups will be addressed by means of the specific road shows. Consumer groups and other will be informed and included in the project loop. |
